The UEX series ball nose end mill is specially designed for precision machining of mold steel up to HRC60. It is especially suitable for mold cavities, complex curved surfaces, and semi-finishing to finishing applications where surface consistency and tool stability are critical.


With ultra-fine carbide substrate, advanced TIALSIN coating, and optimized anti-vibration geometry, this tool helps achieve stable cutting, smooth contour transitions, and reliable surface finish in mold steel machining.

Compared with square end mills and corner radius end mills, the ball nose geometry is better suited for 3D contour milling, radius transition machining, and cavity finishing where smooth cutting paths and better surface blending are required.

1. Ultra-Fine Grain Carbide Substrate


UEX ball nose end mills are manufactured using ultra-fine grain powder carbide with grain size below 0.6 μm, combined with 12% cobalt content.

This material structure provides high hardness while maintaining sufficient toughness, reducing the risk of edge chipping during complex machining paths.



2. HiPIMS TIALSIN Coating


The cutting edges are coated with HiPIMS-applied TIALSIN coating, offering oxidation resistance and thermal stability at temperatures up to 1200°C.

The dense coating structure improves adhesion strength, lowers friction, and enhances resistance to crack propagation under high cutting loads.



3. Tool Geometry & Design


UEX ball nose end mills feature a geometry optimized for vibration control and surface consistency:

Unequal end teeth angle: 88° / 92°

Variable helix angle: 35° / 37°

Rake angle: 0° to -5°
